Free tools, AI tools and what each one needs

Astroworld Write has 24 tools, and 18 of them need no account and have no usage limit: the word counter, readability checker and text comparison, the case, cleanup, sorting and find and replace utilities, the generators and the developer tools. They do their work in your browser, which is why a hash or a regex match updates while you type.

The six AI tools work differently. Paraphrase, Fix Grammar, Summarize, Detect Tone, Email Subject and Essay Intro send your text through our server to a language model, so they need an account. Every free account gets one AI request as a lifetime trial, and a trial works only once per IP address. After that, the AI tools come with the Basic and Pro plans.

Basic covers 200 AI requests a month, and no account can send more than 30 AI requests within an hour. A single request can be up to 1,500 tokens. The tools estimate tokens as characters divided by three and count the instructions sent along with your text, so plan on about 4,000 characters, roughly 650 words of English.

Frequently asked questions

Are the writing tools free?

18 of the 24 tools are free, with no account and no usage limit. The six AI tools give every free account one request as a trial and after that need a Basic or Pro plan.

Which tools use AI?

Paraphrase Text, Fix Grammar, Summarize Text, Detect Tone, Generate Email Subject and Write Essay Intro. Everything else, from the word counter to the code formatter, runs without AI.

How many AI requests do I get?

A free account gets one lifetime trial request, and a trial can be used once per IP address. The Basic plan covers 200 AI requests a month, with at most 30 in any hour.

How long can a text for the AI tools be?

Up to 1,500 tokens. The tools count a token as roughly three characters and include the instructions sent with your text, so about 4,000 characters, or roughly 650 words of English, fit in one request.

Can I format code or test a regex here?

Yes. The developer tools include a hash generator for MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512 and HMAC, a JSON formatter and validator, a code formatter that runs Prettier 3 for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON and Markdown, a regex tester, a number converter and text statistics.
